CPS’ Athletes of the Week
-Espanola Valley ATH Benny Trujillo– Trujillo had 312 all-scrimmage yards, 6 total TDs, 5 total tackles, and 1 INT against Del Norte. What a stat line!
-La Cueva WR Chris Lopez– the junior speedster had 178 receiving yards and 3 TDs against Cleveland in one half.
-Cleveland WR Evan Nanez– one of the state’s top players, had 6 catches, 142 receiving yards and 2 TDs in one half against La Cueva.
-Taos runner Billy Romero– the senior won the 2026 Sal Gonzales Jamboree behind a 15:36 time.
-Moriarty RB/LB Mario Romero– Romero had 204 rush yards, 3 TDs, 3 pancake blocks, and 7 total tackles against Hot Springs.
-Cleveland WR Ajay Vigil– the senior wideout had 3 catches, 72 receiving yards, and 2 TDs in one half against La Cueva.
CPS’ Coach of the Week
-Cibola football head coach David Howes– Coach Howes’ squad defeated Los Alamos on the road, 49-20. Howes recently shared that he is battling cancer.
CPS’ Lobo of the Week
-UNM safety C.J. McBean– McBean had 6 total tackles, 2 TFLs, and 1 PBU in a loss at Oklahoma, 14-8.
